MAP Context™ · Module 01
Context Analysis
Context Analysis surfaces the background, history, and prior coverage that gives any story its full meaning — without requiring the reader to conduct independent research.
What Context Analysis does
When MAP processes a URL, Context Analysis retrieves and organizes relevant background information from MAP’s indexed knowledge base and reference materials. This includes:
What Context Analysis is not
Context Analysis is a retrieval and organization tool — not an editorial engine. It does not generate conclusions, assign accuracy ratings, or interpret what the context means for the story’s credibility. Every contextual item surfaced is a factual reference with a source, not a judgment.
MAP does not selectively surface context to favor a particular interpretation. Context items are organized chronologically and by relevance weighting — no ranking reflects editorial endorsement of a particular narrative.
Coverage and limitations
Context Analysis depth depends on what is indexed in MAP’s knowledge base. Coverage is strongest for:
- Major national and international news events with extensive prior coverage
- Public figures and institutions with publicly documented records
- Topics covered in MAP editorial reporting or MAP’s curated reference index
- Subjects with accessible primary source documentation
Coverage is thinner for highly local, niche, or rapidly breaking events where prior indexed materials are limited. MAP signal profiles indicate when context depth is limited for a given URL.
