Corrections Policy

How MAP handles errors — promptly, transparently, and on the record.

HOW CORRECTIONS WORK

MAP is committed to accuracy. When we make a factual error — in a context record, a ledger record, or published coverage — we correct it promptly and transparently. The original error is noted, not erased.

1

Report an error

Errors can be reported via the contact form. Include the specific URL, the error, and supporting evidence. We review all reports within 5 business days.

2

Editorial review

The MAP editorial team assesses the reported error. If confirmed, a correction is issued. If disputed, the reasoning is documented.

3

Ledger update

If a context record or ledger entry contains an error, a new ledger entry is written with the correction noted. The original entry is not deleted — both are visible.

4

Notification

The reporter is notified of the outcome. If a publisher’s context record is corrected as a result, the publisher is also notified.

APPEALS

Publishers who believe their MAP Verified™ context record is in error may submit a formal appeal. Appeals must include specific evidence that contradicts the assessment and must be submitted within 90 days of the original context record.
