Accessibility Statement

Media Alert Press LLC is committed to making mediaalertpress.com usable by the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities.

Conformance Target

We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard most commonly referenced by U.S. Department of Justice guidance on ADA Title III website accessibility. This site is partially conformant: some parts of the content do not yet fully meet this standard, and we are actively remediating known gaps.

What We’ve Done

Keyboard access

A “Skip to main content” link, visible focus indicators, and full keyboard operability for navigation, forms, and interactive verification widgets.

Forms & labels

Every form field — newsletter signup, URL verification, publisher and institutional requests — has a programmatically associated label, not just placeholder text.

Screen reader announcements

Dynamic content — verification results, form confirmations, live signal updates — is announced via ARIA live regions instead of relying on visual change alone.

Color & contrast

Text, links, and UI indicators are checked against WCAG’s 4.5:1 (text) and 3:1 (UI component) contrast minimums.

Images & media

Meaningful images carry descriptive alt text; purely decorative icons and separators are hidden from assistive technology.

Structure & landmarks

Pages use a single logical heading hierarchy and semantic landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) so assistive technology can navigate the page structure directly.

Known Limitations

We know of the following gaps and are working to close them:

  • Some syndicated article content is republished from third-party sources and may not fully match our internal accessibility standards.
  • A small number of embedded third-party tools (polls, push-notification prompts, on-page widgets) are provided by outside vendors and may not meet the same standard as our own code.
  • Older archived pages may not yet reflect our current accessibility practices.
