MAP Context™

MAP Context is the record MAP builds for a single URL: seven observable frames — origin, attribution, specificity, timing, framing, context change and information relationships — extracted automatically from the page. It describes what is visible at the time of observation. It does not verify, score or rate content.

What it does

A description of one page, not a verdict.

Submit a public URL and MAP fetches the page and extracts what is observable: who the page says published it, how it attributes claims, how detailed it is, whether its headline leans toward past or future, how it is presented, how it differs from earlier observations of the same URL (only if MAP has seen it more than once), and which other domains it links to.

MAP Context is not an editorial verdict engine. Records are generated automatically, with no per-record human review, and are point-in-time snapshots. Each record is written to the MAP ledger, an append-oriented, SHA-256 hash-chained table that MAP operates.

What exists and what does not

01

Context Analysis

Partly available. The origin, context-change and outbound-reference frames of a single-URL record. Background research and prior-coverage lookup are not available.

›
02

Media Context Reports

Not available yet. Cross-outlet coverage reports do not exist. MAP builds one record per URL.

›
03

Narrative Analysis

Partly available. The framing and timing frames of a single-URL record, without editorial judgment. Cross-outlet narrative analysis is not available.

›
04

Source Context Reports

Not available yet. Source profiles and histories of a source's past reporting or accuracy do not exist. A record does show how one page attributes and links to its sources.

05

Transparency Explanations

Not available yet. Story-level explanations do not exist. Each record is written in plain sentences, including where a frame has nothing to report.

FAQ

MAP Context™ — Frequently Asked Questions

What is MAP Context™?

MAP Context™ is a single-URL context record: seven observable frames (origin, attribution, specificity, timing, framing, context change and information relationships) produced by automated, rule-based extraction for a URL you check. It is structured information to help readers and researchers, not an editorial verdict. The broader modules (media and source context reports, narrative analysis, transparency explanations) are not yet available.

What are the five MAP Context™ modules?

MAP Context™ is a single-URL context record: seven observable frames produced by automated extraction. Its five named modules are Context Analysis, Media Context Reports, Narrative Analysis, Source Context Reports and Transparency Explanations. Only parts of Context Analysis and Narrative Analysis exist today; the others are not yet available. MAP does not compare coverage across outlets or score sources.

Is MAP Context™ an editorial verdict?

No. MAP describes MAP Context™ as "not an editorial verdict engine" — it surfaces factual, structural signals so readers and platforms can assess content with more information, rather than issuing a true-or-false judgment.
