Privacy Policy

How MAP collects, uses, and protects your information.

Last updated: June 2026

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly (name, email when subscribing or contacting us), information collected automatically when you visit the site (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URL), and information from third-party services (API usage data).

2. How we use it

To provide the MAP newsletter and services. To respond to contact form submissions. To analyze site usage and improve the platform. To maintain security and prevent abuse. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Cookies

MAP uses functional cookies necessary for the site to operate, and analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) to understand site usage. You can opt out of analytics cookies via your browser settings.

4. Third parties

MAP uses Amazon Web Services to host our API and database. We use Google Analytics for traffic analysis. These providers have their own privacy policies.

5. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting privacy@mediaalertpress.com. Newsletter subscribers may unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter.

6. Contact

For privacy questions: privacy@mediaalertpress.com

7. Payment processing

Subscription and API payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Stripe handles your payment card details directly; we do not store full card numbers on our servers. Stripe’s use of your information is governed by Stripe’s own privacy policy.

8. Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Newsletter and account data is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period after you request deletion or close your account, except where we must retain records for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes.

9. International data transfers

If you access MAP from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards for transfers of personal data from the EU/UK.

10. Your rights under GDPR/CCPA

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we collect and to opt out of its sale — MAP does not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@mediaalertpress.com.

11. AI transparency

MAP’s context records are generated using automated, AI-assisted analysis of publicly available content. Results are informational and probabilistic, not autonomous legal, financial, or medical determinations. We do not use your personal data to train third-party AI models without your consent.

12. Children’s privacy

MAP services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.

13. Security

We use HTTPS/TLS encryption for data in transit, access controls, and rate limiting to protect our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users without undue delay.

14. Data Protection Officer

Questions or complaints about this policy can be directed to our Legal Department at legal@mediaalertpress.com or privacy@mediaalertpress.com, or by mail to Media Alert Press LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801. EU/EEA residents may also lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority; U.S. residents may contact the FTC or their state Attorney General.
