AI Ethics Policy
Effective date: June 9, 2026
1. Principles
Transparency — We disclose when AI assists in content creation or platform analysis. Automated outputs are never presented as editorial conclusions.
Human oversight — All AI-assisted editorial content is reviewed by a human editor before publication.
Non-judgment — MAP AI systems surface signals and context. They do not render verdicts on truth, credibility, or accuracy.
Fairness — We actively monitor our AI systems for systematic bias and correct signals that disproportionately flag content from specific communities without journalistic basis.
2. What AI Does in MAP Systems
AI is used for: content signal analysis; comparison indexing; AI-generated content detection; editorial drafting assistance (always human-reviewed); and spam and abuse detection. AI is not used to determine whether content is true or false, or to make publication decisions without human review.
3. Reporting Concerns
If you believe a MAP AI output is systematically biased, inaccurate, or causing harm, contact us. We review all substantive concerns and publish material corrections to our methodology.
