API Terms of Use

These API Terms govern your access to and use of the MAP Verified™ API. By accessing the API, you agree to these terms in addition to our general Terms of Service.

1. API Access and Keys

API access requires an approved API key issued by Media Alert Press. Keys are non-transferable and may not be shared or embedded in publicly accessible client-side code. You are responsible for all activity under your API key.

2. Permitted Use

You may: submit URLs for MAP contextual analysis; retrieve verification signal profiles; integrate MAP indicators into your platform; and query publisher verification status.

3. Prohibited Use

You may not: present MAP outputs as editorial verdicts; build censorship systems; circumvent rate limits; resell raw API access; or use the API for surveillance or profiling of individuals.

4. Rate Limits

API usage is subject to rate limits and weekly quotas based on your plan tier. Exceeding your quota returns a 429 response. MAP reserves the right to throttle or suspend API access for abuse.

5. Attribution

When displaying MAP signals to end users, include visible attribution: “Powered by MAP Verified™” with a link to mediaalertpress.com/map-verified.
