MAP Verified™

Check a URL

Submit a publicly accessible article, press release, or supported media URL to build a MAP Context Record of its observable information environment — where it came from, who's attributed, how detailed it is, and how it's framed.

Records created here are written to the MAP ledger and can appear publicly in the Verification Archive and the public API. Do not submit a URL you want to keep private.

Each MAP record is written to MAP’s append-oriented ledger. Hashed entries are chained; about 27% of older entries have no hash, and continuity is MAP’s own daily report. Corrections create additional entries; the original is kept. The ledger does not yet link a correction to the entry it corrects.

How it works

01

Submit a URL

Enter any publicly accessible news article, media content, or press release URL in the field above.

02

MAP builds the context record

MAP documents the observable information environment across seven dimensions — Origin, Attribution, Specificity, Timing, Framing, Context Change, and Information Relationships.

03

Read the context record

You receive a written record — not a score or a verdict — with an entry on the MAP Verification Ledger.

What a context record documents

Seven dimensions of the observable information environment — documented, not judged.

01

Origin

Publisher, author, publication date, and structured data the page itself provides.

02

Attribution

Structural patterns that signal who's making a statement — phrasing like "according to," and named sources.

03

Specificity

Observable detail — content depth, named dates, and name-like sequences suggesting people, places, or organizations.

04

Timing

Where the piece sits in time — past event, ongoing development, or anticipated action.

05

Framing

How the story is packaged — urgency, listicle format, opinion format, live-update format — and what gets the emphasis.

06

Context Change

What's changed since MAP last analyzed this URL — headline edits, new attribution, shifts in references or framing.

07

Information Relationships

The people, places, dates, and outside sources referenced in the piece, surfaced as observable connections.

MAP does not determine whether something is true, false, biased, or trustworthy. That judgment is left to you. MAP gives you the evidence environment before judgment.
